I have to inform you that I have received very sad news from Jose Granda that Herbert Fradin, our first RAD President (1977-1981), passed away that morning. He was 80 years old. We lose a great man. We will post more information on RAD's website (www.rad.org) as soon as possible. Click here

President's memo:

I would like to share a few words with you. The RAD 2009 Conference have been so successful! The unofficial attendee count is 365. The RAD 2009 Committee have worked hard for 4 years. Congratulations to RAD 2009 Committee for hosting a fabulous conference!

The 2009-2011 RAD Board are:

President: Larry Pike
Vice President: Steven Schumacher
Secretary: Henry Carter
Treasurer: David O'Toole


The Delegate Meeting has been productive. The meeting has lasted 3 days only. The delegates, alternate delegates and RAD Board members have done a great job. Our big thanks go to Libby Pollard for being our parliamentarian.

There has been a change in the RAD Board structure. The Members at Large will move down to the delegate level. There are 3 new additional positions: Development, Outreach/Public Relations and Education. Applications for the new three positions will be available on the www.rad.org next week.

RAD has awarded the Woman of the Year to Vicki Kirkpatrick and the Man of the Year to Steven Schumacher. Congratulations to Vicki and Steven!

The RAD 2009's Keynote speakers are Jennifer Ann Cook (JAC) from SF California and Colin Allen from Sydney Australia. They have given us several things to consider for the future.

The RAD Pageant Winners are: Miss RAD - Alan "SPO" Schwartz (Miss Mae) from California and Mr RAD -Matt Lieberman from Chicago. The RAD Pageant Committee did a wonderful job!

The next RAD Conference will be in Denver from July 13 to 17, 2011. We will put up the information this weekend. You can buy the Early Bird Combo ticket on the website. Please check our website, www.rad.org

I want to thank the people who have come to Chicago for the RAD 2009 Conference. They make it happen. THANK YOU!
